For My Mother...

Well, mother seemed a little disappointed that I didn't post a picture of my dress... so this one's for you mom.  Let me take you on a journey... a journey of one girls mission to find a dress, so you can truly appreciate how good it is when you find one.
Nice if I could zip it.                 Too tight to sit.
Too much cleavage.        Too much going on.
Too much tummy.                   Too much hip.
 Potential contenders.
Still thinking about getting the one on the left, because I did love it.  Why I didn't buy it then... I don't know.  The one on the right I was on my way to buy, when I noticed a black thread in an obvious place (the breast) where it shouldn't have been.
Can you say NO and HELL NO?  YUCK!  I sure can!

So after all this... and much more that I didn't capture on film, I ended up with this one:
What do you think?  I got this little sweater for it too.
And the shoes....
I love the shoes.  Sure, they aren't heels, but to be honest.  I just don't like wearing heels.  My feet always hurt after a half hour and I wish I had wore other shoes... so I got these.  Slight wedge heel, comfy and super cute.  Jason really liked the shoes too! :)  Score!

Since this post is titled for my mother... I should comment about the show we both like...

Chelsea... honestly I tuned in the second her dance finished... so I couldn't tell you my thoughts.
Wendy... Sorry, but that was... to use a Simon Cowell word... dreadful and boring.  She just seems manly to me.
Hines... Wow.  Who knew you had the moves? Not bad.  I was rather surprised.
(side note: Brooke Burke is looking crazy skinny tonight along with some big ta-tas!  Good grief!)
Petra... Classy, and she danced to Norah Jones.  I mean... how could you not like that?  AND, she survived and lost her fiance in the tsunami in Thialand in 2004... so I am sure the events in Japan have been difficult for her.
Romeo... Pretty good.  I'm pretty sure you will succeed in making it on the show longer than your dad.
Sugar Ray... It was alright, but looked stiff and he looked a little uncomfortable at times while dancing with her, but did well when he was dancing on his own.
Kendra... I just love her.  I listened to her talk to my radio show, John J & Rich this morning on the drive to work.  You could tell it was hard, but she really tried... and her guy almost slipped up and dropped her for a second.  Not sure if you saw that... but I did.
Ralph... First the karate kid is 49.  Wow, can it be?  He sure doesn't look it!  Still long and lanky, but not bad.  I was pleasantly surprised.
Chris... I was in the kitchen and I missed it.  Not that I really am that upset.  Oh well.
Mike...Honestly... I wasn't paying attention, because I didn't really care.  Oops.  Sorry.  He seemed funny in the pre-dance interview.
Kirstie...  Ummm... OMG!  She is NOT 60!  No WAY!  I am shocked!! YAY!!!!!  I LOVE her and she did great!  I am sooooo happy!  :)  Way to go girl!!  :)

Kendra said on her radio interview this morning that a woman should win... they do so much more... the guys just twirl the girl around and the girl has to twirl, twist, do the splits, flip, etc.  She's right ya know.  The guys have it so easy, that when they can't even get simple footwork correct I find myself being pretty critical.

Oh, and for dinner tonight?
No, not Tuna Casserole again... although according to my husband it should have been.
I made yummy salads.
Spinach, shredded carrots, tomato basil feta, walnuts, strawberries, blueberries and raspberry vinaigrette. Sooooo good.  :)
What do you like on your salad?

  2. Thanks Mandy! :) I know... I just wish I would have tired to get the thread out somehow, but was afraid it would cause a hole. Good news is I went back and got the other contender (the colorful one) tonight. Now I have a dress for the rehearsal and one for the wedding. :) I love dresses... and took the opportunity to get a couple!
