After enjoying our morning coffee in bed, catching up with each other and the world, we got ready and headed to Tucson for the Gem & Mineral Show. Twice a year Tucson becomes an international marketplace of buyers and sellers for gems, minerals, fossils, and other various items. The "Gem Show" is much more than one single event at one location, but thousands of participants and attendees at more than 40 shows around town!
Today was a beautiful day!
The forecast today? 78 degrees, and lots of sunshine!

say what words fail of." ~George Eliot

This one looked like seaweed! It was not soft though, it was hard rock.
All kinds of different stones... or are they gems? Humm.... gemstones?
Petrified wood and some strange stone with blue on it.
Reminded me of Superman's home planet, Krypton. :)
♥♥♥ My gem ♥♥♥
Shells
Slice of petrified wood.
♥ Heart of stone.
WOW! Jason is 6 foot 4 inches tall! Check out that amethyst!!
Looks like it's time to defrost the freezer! LOL
Tiny Buddha anyone?
Reminded me of Grandma.
Soapstone chess sets like the cool one Jason's parents got us for Christmas!
25% off is still $150!!
We couldn't help touching everything!
Jason on petrified wood chairs... that looked like toilets to me! :)
Me on a petrified wood bench.
"It takes a village to sell a rock"
Black Market Minerals, my favorite place.
On our way out, I spied a place I knew Jason would like. :)
He was so patient with me while I bought jewelry, I wanted him to check out the antique guns.
We found it funny that the very first gun he looked at was a Tennessee Mountain Southern Long Rifle. It was from around 1850. So cool, but $600!
Antique Rifles.
Antique handguns.
Bahahahahaha!
Duel anyone?
I got to hold part of a planet that is no longer in existence anymore, and is now a meteorite.
Jason saw this Airstream on the way out. It is his dream to see some of our beautiful country pulling one of those one day.
I bought 5 pairs of earrings, a bracelet,
7 1-foot long strands of beads including one of lava rock,
and 4 6-inch strands of stone beads for a total of $17.83!!
WHAT A BARGAIN!
:) Very fun day!
Jason went on a mountain bike ride with Mike later this afternoon while I enjoyed some of my own guilty pleasures: Teen Mom on TV, Facebook and Real Simple Magazine. :)
Time for some more soup!
Goodnight!
