Falls and Trips

Yesterday I took a tumble. I got up in the morning, walked through the bedroom and my knee slightly gave out for a couple of steps and then it went away. This has happened before and not been a big deal, today however, was different. As soon as I got in the bathroom, I took 2 steps and my knee gave out completely. I fell and landed on side of the tub banging my arm into the toilet seat on the say down. All I could say was, "Ow!Ow!Ow!Ow!Ow!Ow!" It was so painful! Jason woke up, came in to see if I was okay and help me up. Maybe if I wasn't so tired, maybe if there was something other than a shower curtain to offer support... maybe I wouldn't have fallen. BUT, I did. So, I have been popping ibuprofen and resting. No packing for me! Today a lovely bruise has developed on my arm where I hit it on the toilet. No bruise on my back, but it is sore right around my ribs!

Jason's dad & Sue showed up this evening. They were brought us the grandfather clock that Jason's mother picked out when they lived in Germany. He really wanted Jason to have it. It's beautiful with an "H" on the bottom in wood, and different chimes you can set it on! Sue also brought us a couple of things she had been saving for Jason, a carving of a castle on the Rheine River from Germany and a wooden bowl from Berchtesgadener where Jason skied when he was a boy. Plus she brought us some souvenirs from her recent trip to Greece, a kitchen towel, a calendar & tapestry pillow cover. We all went out to eat an early supper at Applebee's and enjoy some conversation. Then we took them on a quick tour of the town. Marc had seen it before, but Sue had not. It was a driving tour past the med school, down Main Street and where I worked at BB&T. Then we went up to the overlook to get out and take a look. It was starting to rain, so our visit to the overlook was a quick one! When we got back Sue was in a hurry to get on the road and head home, so they left shortly after we got home. We did have time to give her a birthday card. Her 66th birthday is tomorrow. It was a nice visit. I love my in-laws. I am so glad that they are so kind and that conversation is easy between us. I really hope they visit us in Arizona! :)
