Time Together / Time to Remember

We enjoyed a night of just being together last night.  We had to drive way into Tucson to get more paint, because they were sold out at the Walmart here by our house, and the only one that had any was way up there.  It's okay though,
we got an In-N-Out burger out of the deal, so we didn't mind too much.  We love to eat there.  AND we got our paint... so it was a successful trip.  I was worried as we drove up there that hey might sell out before we got there... luckily that didn't happen!  ;)  After our trip up to Tucson, we came home and watched some TV together.  It was nice to be able to spend some time together.   We are keeping vampire hours lately.  I'm not scared or anything without him here, it's just that I don't sleep well when Jason isn't home, and end up staying up WAY too late watching TV and surfing the internet.  :)  We actually got to sleep a little earlier last night, and this morning we watched the September 11 recounts on TV in bed.
It was such an unbelievable thing to watch when it was happening.  There was a surreal fear I felt as I sat glued to the TV nine years ago.  Today, as I watched Fox News I cried. Later, I heard The Star-Spangled Banner on the radio driving home from the grocery and the tears flowed again as I sang along proudly in my car.
I think I will always get choked up when I think about all the lives taken 9 years ago, and all the military soldiers and first responders who put their lives on the line, for me, my safety and my freedom. We are so blessed to live in America!  I was thinking when I was at the grocery about how everyone was caring and supportive during the weeks that followed the tragic terrorist attacks in 2001.
My husband said he was really glad that we sat and watched all the stories of 9.11 because it's easy to forget and we need to be reminded. "How quickly we forget" SO TRUE!

We are finishing painting the office.  Well, Jason more than me, because a lot of it was taller than I could reach, plus he is the touch up expert!  We still have to do baseboards, but the walls with be done after today.  It was a beautiful day out, hot but beautiful. Goodnight and God bless.
