Busy, busy, busy!!

Well, I haven't been keeping up with this blog as well as I thought I would... but life has kept me really busy!

The second block of year two was the hardest yet, and I am not looking forward to the rest of the year. My dear sweet husband spends most of his time studying, so he does not get to enjoy much free time. I am so thankful for all the sacrifices he makes for us. He is a wonderful man and I love him so much. I am so blessed he is my husband! After such a stressful block (for both of us), Jason brought me home a beautiful bouquet of fall flowers! He told me that he appreciated my support, and got me the flowers for being such a good wife! Is my man great or what?

Our closest friends, Julie and Charlie have been going though an even more difficult month. Julie's grandfather had a heart attack, and her grandmother fell down the stairs breaking her neck when she went home to get some things for her husband. Her grandmother ended up dying. The same weekend this all happened, their cat, Whitey was run over by a car and killed. I've been praying things will get better for them, but sadly Julie's grandfather passed away last week. Jason had gone by their house to pick up our X-Box that we had let them borrow, and take Julie some flowers since she has been going through such a difficult time. (See, I told you my husband is the best!!) He was there when Julie got the call about her grandfather, so he stayed with her a while. I feel so badly for them, and I really hope things start calming down!!

Last week was kitting at Alicia's. It was really fun to get together with the girls and chat it up. I have started yet another scarf. I am putting the baby blanket on hold until I get my book: Teach Yourself Visually Knitting. If that book can't help me branch out and become a better knitter, I don't know what will! As soon as I get that book I want to begin a baby blanket and maybe a little hat. FYI: I started prenatal vitamins 3 weeks ago!! I started another scarf.  What I have so far, is pictured to the left.
I think I will give Mom and Dad scarves for Christmas along with the ornaments I have already purchased for them.

At work, things are going good. I am receiving the Olympian Award sometime in the beginning of November! That basically means I am a top performer for my position, in my area. Pretty cool! I will be going to a lunch in Lexington to receive it, so hopefully I can carpool with Carol and/or Rose who also were awarded the Olympian Award for their positions.

I made a cake for Mike Short (from work). It was a thank you for him changing my tire the week before. Jason was in exams and had only slept 6 hours in 3 days, so not only was I super grateful for Mike changing the tire, but so was my hubby! I also had lots of cookies to bake for the SAA. We are helping one of the student organizations (SGA I think) raise money for the Cadaver Ball. I made about 50 no-bake cookies, 40 chocolate chip cookies, and 20 snickerdoodle cookies. The snickerdoodles were a disaster, so I kept those ugly little things and sent the rest off to the sale. Of course I took a few into work and kept a bunch of no-bakes for my sweetie-pie.

Mom and Dad Celebrated their 40th Anniversary today. They went to the Highlands to get away together. Here's a picture of them at dinner where they had scallops and angel hair pasta on the veranda. They said they were thinking of what has made their 40 years so happy, and me and my sis are a big part of it. Awwww! They are too sweet! I love them! Tomorrow they are hiking the trail and enjoying fall. I am so glad that my parents are so happy, in love, and healthy. Thank you God for my wonderful parents. Between my parents and my husband... I am so completely blessed! Praise God! =)

Well... I need to get to bed. We stayed up late last night, with our company, Charlie. He came over to watch a movie and have some pizza & drinks. Today I stayed busy running to the store (yet again) for a pumpkin for Thursday's craft night, vacuuming (which involved cleaning the vacuum before and after... ugh!!), cleaning house, and doing laundry. I have to be at work tomorrow at 8am! Yuck! Jason is already in bed, not feeling well. Hopefully he's just tired and will be better tomorrow. I'll try to keep up better in the future. Nighty-night!
