I have always loved smoothies, and ever since we got our Breville blender I love making them even more! I love that blender! Sure it cost a little more, but it's worth it to not have some cheap blender that breaks after you make a few smoothies. Sometimes, you get what you pay for!
Today I made a green smoothie that my lovely Aunt M shared with me when we were in Tennessee last week. I was a bit skeptical when I heard the ingredients but it is delicious. Lots of people have asked for the recipe... so by popular demand, I am posting the recipe here to share with you.
Aunt M's Green (or purple) Smoothie
(Ingredients for 1 serving. I double it)
1 scoop smoothie powder of your choice
(M uses GNC's lean french vanilla/I used Vi Shape sweet cream)
2 squirts of Agave Nectar to sweeten
(M uses 2 packets of truvia, but any sweetner will do)
1/2 cup fresh spinach
1/2 cup fresh kale
1 cup Silk Soy Milk
(M uses Almond 30 cal unsweetened milk)
In the blender pulverize all the above ingredients. I used the liquify setting.
Then add the following:
1/2 cup frozen pineapple
1/2 cup frozen banana
(you can peel and slice up bananas and freeze them, FYI)
1/2 cup frozen blueberries
(which may or may not turn your green smoothie purple)

Banana Berry Delicious Smoothie
(Yeilds 2 servings)
1/2 cup Silk Soy Milk
1 1/2 cup strawberry frozen yogurt
(can use any favor you want to try or fat-free vanilla ice cream)
1 cup frozen strawberries
2 frozen bananas
1 cup blueberries
3 Tbsp. flax seed
2 Tbsp. honey
(can use any favor you want to try or fat-free vanilla ice cream)
1 cup frozen strawberries
2 frozen bananas
1 cup blueberries

2 Tbsp. honey
