Idol 10 Final 3

Top 3 sing 3 songs tonight.
Here we go...

So the show kicked off round one tonight with Scotty.  I just don't care for his kind of country.  It's just not for me. It's all deep and boring... and those googly eyes he makes while holding the mic all weird... I'm just NOT a fan. Never have been, and tonight is no different.  I could have sworn his timing was off.  The judges didn't seem to notice, or they are just being nice since the end is near?

Lauren sings second.  She is cute and as usual really looked like she was in her element on stage.  I enjoyed it, but I want her to really let loose.  I know she is so young, but I think she can grow.  Oh, and  thank you Randy Jackson for yet again repeating EXACTLY what someone else just said... tonight it was Beyonce he ripped off.

Haley took a risk as usual and I really liked it.  She picked a Zeppelin song!  :)  Beyonce, tonight's mentor even noticed how original she is.  Aww... and her Daddy got to jam on the guitar with her!  How awesome is that?  Love it!  Oh... she did a little slip and fall running around the stage, but recovered and went on like nothing ever happened!  Great job. Randy even gave her a standing O!  Her daddy said he wished he could have picked her up when she fell.  Awww!!

Round 1 Winner:  Haley!  I said it, and so did the judges!

Flashback to Scotty's audition, and Steven's potty mouth.  As we know, they all say yes, and send him through. Round two begins with  Jimmy picking the song ‘Are You Going to Kiss Me or Not.’  Huh?  I've never heard it.  Jason passes through the living room while Scotty is singing and says, "He is STILL on?"  Ha ha ha!  My thoughts exactly honey.  The judges bob their heads, although you can't tell me this is their kind of music... not a one of them.  I think they are just being nice.  They "Woo" and clap at the end, but they were writing and distracted during the performance.  Hummm...  J Lo even points of her favorite parts and then requests Scotty cut his hair short again.  Oh brother.  Who says he's getting through to next week J Lo?  Randy says he's in it to win it.  Ummm... sorry don't feel it Randy.

They show Lauren backstage getting embarrassed because he hose ripped and they are putting shimmer makeup on her legs.  Flashback to a recap of Lauren's audition and how she sang to Steven with her family filling the room.  As we know, they put her through.  Ryan tries to embarrass her one more time about the hose.  Jimmy picks the song 'If I Die Young.'  I love the sound of her voice.  I think she sounds so much like what you hear on the radio... very current.  J Lo says she has a beautiful tone in her voice.  J Lo admits she got caught up in the moment, as do all the judges, but basically says it was a beautiful thing to watch her get lost in the moment enjoying it so much.  It was a tiny mistake and she recovered fine.  I actually agreed with their comments.  Ryan asks Lauren’s mom what it’s like watching Lauren on the show.  She says this experience has aged her 20 years!

Flashback to Haley's audition.  Haley talks about how she auditioned last year in Chicago and they told her to come back.  They all put her through... of course.  Jimmy picks 'Rhiannon' for Haley. I thought she did a great job with the song.  I even liked how she had the wind blowing on her so her dress and hair were flowing.

Wonderful as usual. Randy says her pitch was perfect but it was a little somber for him.  Then the guys laugh about the wind machine.  Steven says it was a nice let your hair down song.  J Lo says she thought she was going to take it further at the end, but it was still a beautiful moment. I am glad she didn’t go over the top with it.  She needed to not be the same every time… and Haley sure isn’t.

Round 2 Winner: According to Steven it was Lauren, according to J Lo & Randy it was Scotty.  Jimmy is asked, but doesn’t give a real answer… wimp.  Ryan points out Neil Sedaca sitting next to Jimmy.  Umm… does anyone know who he is in the audience?  Hummm.... I say the winner of that round was Haley!

Now a break for Beyonce’s plug of her new video ‘Girls’ which was pretty good, but got cut off a little early… weird.
Good girl power song for my Idol finale.  That’s what I’m saying Beyonce… GIRLS!!!!  I hope they are both in the final two and Scotty gets a trip home for good!

Round THREE, judges pick.  Wow this is a long show.

Scotty sings Kenny Rogers, ‘She Believes In Me.’  He did alright I guess, but I just don’t care for that twangy kind of country.  Judges are proud, I’m not that crazy about it.  Ryan got Scotty’s Dad to sing Scotty’s trademark “Baby lock them doors and turn the lights down low.”  Ha ha!  That was cute.  Even cuter, when Scotty said on the commercial break he thought he dad was in it to win it.

Lauren sings Lee Ann Womack’s ‘I Hope You Dance.’  She sings it so well, and looks beautiful.  I think it was a great pick for her.  J Lo said she got “goosies” and thought she was the winner of this round already.  (Wow… Haley hasn’t even sung yet!  Wait, maybe that will piss her off… she sings great when she’s pissed!)  Judges all loved it.

Haley is up last, as usual.  Do they always have her last because they want a strong finish?  Works for me.  Anyway… she is singing Alanis Morissette's ‘You Oughta Know.’ They changed a few words from “will she go down on you in the theater” to “will she go out with you to the theater,” to no doubt make it more family friendly.  She rocked it.  The judges all liked it.  She’s so cool and laid back.  I really like her.

So, watching the vote recap it’s so obvious to me that Lauren and Haley have a much more powerful voice than Scotty.  Wow.  I hope the girls prevail!  GIRL POWER!!!

Ryan asks who won Round 3.  Steven says Haley slayed him tonight.  J Lo says still Lauren gave the best performance because “goose pimples don’t lie.”  Randy says Lauren won round three.
  We’ll find out tomorrow…  UGH!!!!
